Synopsis

Set in the opulent courts of ancient Persia, Esther tells the breathtaking story of a young Jewish woman who rises from obscurity to become Queen — and must ultimately risk everything to save her people from annihilation.

When the beautiful and wise Esther is chosen by King Ahasuerus, she conceals her Jewish heritage at the counsel of her cousin Mordecai. But when Haman plots a genocidal decree against the Jewish people, Esther faces an impossible choice: remain silent and secure, or reveal herself and plead for mercy — knowing that approaching the king uninvited may cost her very life.

With sweeping orchestral music, soaring anthems, and intimate ballads, Esther is a musical of profound faith, extraordinary courage, and the enduring power of love.

"I will go to the king, though it is against the law; and if I perish, I perish."
Esther — Act II, Scene IV
"For such a time as this, you have come to the kingdom."
Mordecai — Act II, Scene III
